Admissions Policy

The admissions policy at Bramcote Lorne school.

Bramcote Lorne School operates an equal opportunities admissions policy and does not discriminate against any child, whatever their gender, colour, origin or culture.

Admission into all years at Bramcote Lorne School, with the exception of The Early Years department, is on the basis of interview and/or assessment. Reports from previous schools will be requested and carefully studied prior to interview.

One of the senior staff will interview the child prior to entry. This may take the form of a visit to the school and/or some short tests.

The admissions process will aim to identify applicants whose academic and other abilities appear to match the ethos and standards of the school and whose personal qualities suggest they have the potential to contribute to the school community and benefit from the opportunities offered here.

Bramcote Lorne encourages pupils to join their prospective year group for Taster Days, when a child comes to school for one or two days. During their time at the school they meet a number of key staff members and gain a feeling for the school. A Taster Day also makes the moment of joining the school much less daunting for the pupil since they are already aware of the routines and shape of the school day, and have already found friends within the peer group.

Admission at all points of entry is solely at the professional discretion of the Headmaster.
