The Maths department have organised three events this year dedicated to the fun of doing sums. The first Maths Challenge took place in the Hall in November with all children in Years 3 to 8 scoring points by solving mathematical problems. In March, the Mathematical Challenge Relay involved more maths against the clock. And most recently – and perhaps most impressively – the Outdoor Maths Challenge took place on Friday 27 June 2008. It took up most of the morning, involved mixed age group teams tearing around the school-site solving more maths problems and led one visitor to the school to exclaim that he’d never seen so many children working so hard – together – and having so much fun – with Maths!
