It was at the beginning of the academic year that Mrs Wardell and Mrs Bott – the producers – began to formulate a plan that would eventually bring about the creation of this year’s Bramcote Lorne school play. Mr Lambert was kind (or is that crazy?) enough to set about writing the play and over the course of January and February 2008, “It’ll All Come Out in the Wash” was developed and written.
The play centres around the activities and adventures of three young people who have got back together at their school’s reunion. Through the wonders of time travel, they are able to travel back in time to visit some of the most significant events in this country’s history. However, the course of history never runs smoothly and they are in for one or two surprises along the way as Mr Lambert’s wonderful sense of humour shines through.
The world premiere of the play was on Thursday 3rd July 2008 and and as news of the play’s quality spread, the performance on the afternoon of Speech Day, 5th July, rapidly became a sell-out.
The play was thoroughly enjoyed by both the cast and the audience, by both young and old … rumour has it that Mr Lambert has been asked to write another play for next year – book early!
