Key Stage 1

Our key aim at Key Stage One is to bring out the best in every child.

Key Stage One consists of Year groups One and Two for children aged 5 – 7 years.

Our curriculum offers a broad and balanced learning experience designed to ensure that every pupil has a wide range of skills which will enable him or her to succeed in life and work.

Sensibly sized classes mean healthy teacher pupil ratios, allowing each child to develop individually with a good level of support.

Children are taught most lessons by their Class Teacher. However at Bramcote Lorne, we are fortunate in being able to use the expertise of subject specialist teaching in some areas of the curriculum.

French is taught from Year One upwards.

Daily Planner and Reading Diaries

Our Daily Planners are used as a link between home and school providing information for parents. Reading Diaries provide the opportunity for parents to share in their child’s progress.

Parents as Partners

Our aims in promoting partnership with parents are to:

  • Exchange knowledge about their children’s needs, activities, interests and progress with staff.
  • Actively encourage parents to become part of the Bramcote Lorne Friends.
  • Take part in events and informal discussions about the activities and curriculum provided in Key Stage One.
  • Encourage the building of relationships with other parents in the Pre-Prep Department.
