Key Stage 2

Finding the best in everyone is central to our ethos at Key Stage 2.

Finding the best in everyone is central to our ethos and we aim to do this by providing all pupils with a broad and balanced curriculum which stimulates and challenges them.

In Years 3 and 4, class teachers are responsible for most areas of the curriculum. As the children progress into Years 5 and 6, they receive tuition from specialist teachers in an increasing number of subjects.

In Year 6, pupils are entered for Key Stage 2 SATS in English, Maths and Science.

The following subjects are taught at Key Stage 2. We use the National Curriculum as a guideline but the content is considerably enhanced in most subjects.

  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • French
  • Geography
  • History
  • Religious Studies
  • Music
  • Art
  • Information Communication Technology
  • Design Technology
  • Physical Education
  • Personal, Social, Health Education.

We consider that healthy bodies lead to healthy minds and a comprehensive games programme is included in the curriculum at Key Stage 2.

In addition to the above, all pupils have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of extra-curricular activities after school and at weekends.
